Walnut Sauce

  

3/4 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/4 cups chopped walnuts

Heat the liquids and the sugar in a heavy saucepan, stirring while bringing the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Add walnuts, reduce heat to low, and simmer partially covered for 30 minutes without stirring. Allow to cool, then pour into a sterilized pint jar. Keeps 4 months in the refrigerator.
