Use an attractive medium length of dry log with the bark still on... Drizzle warm white wax onto what is to be the top of the log (that’s the "snow"). Then add a bit more wax as "glue" for a bed of flat evergreen fronds (cedar or juniper is especially fragrant), and on top of that some sprays of handy berries (holly? pyracantha? dried rose hips?) and some cones and maybe cinnamon sticks. All will smell wonderful when burned! (and the wax will help the log to light).
