Make an edible bird house by wiring together stalks of
millet, thatching with strands of amaranth, roofing with
tiny dried corn cobs, or capping a round house with a huge
dried sunflower!
If the structure of the birdseed house isn’t actually
the stalks/cobs, these will be reusable year after year...
Simply "glue" on seeds (by pressing sprinkled
seeds onto peanut butter- or suet-smeared surfaces). You can
even make a sunflower seed-filled chimney with wire mesh
rolled into a tube and attached to the side of the house.
(The mesh size should hold the shells fairly well but allow
birds to peck them out.)
