Use only thick-skinned citrus fruit (oranges or
lemons, perhaps limes)... Make a pattern with tiny metal
studs, then fill in with the cloves (use a thin skewer to
prick the beginnings of holes if necessary). You can gently
shake the result in a bag with powdered cinnamon before
setting the pomanders aside for 3-4 weeks to dry out (turn
them every few days). Wrap the dry balls twice around with a
ribbon (as though quartered) and tie a hanger at the top.
