These are fun to make as well as to crack on someone’s
head... And though this fits into the "paper crafts for
kids" category (even the youngest can do these, if the
shells are prepared for them), I like to make confetti eggs
too!
Have prepared a couple dozen blown (or otherwise
scooped-out - soft-boiled?) eggshells - the main hole can be
up to about 1" across (and ragged-edged is okay). If
there are "exit holes" too, cover them now by
pasting a small piece of tissue paper over them. Cut and/or
punch a whole bunch of confetti bits out of
different-colored pieces of paper. Put a tablespoon or so
into each eggshell, then seal the main hole by pasting on
another piece of tissue paper (with perhaps some decoration
on top - a sticker? a tiny tissue paper flower?). They’re
ready to break... Just be prepared to clean up too. (I
remember these from Olivera Street in Los Angeles - so
perhaps this is a Mexican invention?)
