Sleek little pine cone ornaments that make you look twice...

Break fairly large pine cone bracts (the little, often-sharply pointed, bits) off carefully. Glue them in shingled layers, starting from the bottom, onto small-ish styrofoam bells; also glue some onto the bottom of the bell shape, starting from the center outward (or use the sawn-off bottom of a round-ish pine cone). Hang from a ribbon bow glued to (and pinned to) the top.
